Hydraulic Engineering Works

The very first contract won by Witteveen+Bos following its establishment in 1946 was for the design of the Prins Bernhard Locks in the city of Deventer. We now boast a long history with a multitude of hydraulic engineering works including locks, dams and pumping stations.

By definition, hydraulic engineering works are multidisciplinary in nature. Consultancy provided by Witteveen+Bos specialists covers the full breadth of assignments, from initiative through to the operational and maintenance phase. Their areas of expertise include structural engineering, reliability and availability and hydrodynamics of intake and discharge systems. In addition, the structural engineers of Witteveen+Bos offer special services related to ice loads, fluid-structure interaction under dynamic loads (earthquakes) and structural dynamics.
