Witteveen+Bos evening course

Two themes: PFAS and stable emission measurements

Register today: limited seats.

How can you, as a company, tackle today’s major environmental challenges?
Twice a year, Witteveen+Bos hosts short, focused training evenings. Not heavy on theory, but packed with clear insights and practical tools. This way, you and your company can get to work straightaway, targeted and future-proof.

Practical information

  • When: Tuesday 18 November 2025
  • Where: Radisson Hotel Antwerp Berchem
  • Parking: Available at the hotel
  • For: Environmental managers, coordinators & MER experts air & water
  • Fee: EUR 175.00 p.p.
  • Certificate of attendance sent by email.
  • Training counts for environmental coordinators and MER experts air & water. Eligible for KMO portefeuille and Alimento.

Topic 1: PFAS removal in wastewater

Cost optimisation, regulatory developments & ultra-short chains
– Dr Ir Emmanuel Van Acker, PFAS in wastewater expert

Stricter PFAS standards demand smart treatment that also tackles ultra-short chains.
Many companies already installed tertiary PFAS treatment, but adsorbents such as granular activated carbon (GAC) are often not used optimally and fail to remove ultra-short chain PFAS efficiently. Meanwhile, discharge limits are tightening, with reporting thresholds as the new benchmark.

You will learn:

  • how to improve PFAS discharge monitoring
  • how we simulate the most cost-efficient setup
  • key technical considerations
  • the latest technological insights
  • how regulations are evolving

Topic 2: Emission measurements in air & water

Optimised measuring, without losing certainty
– Ir Arnout Soumillion, MER expert air

Discover a reliable reduction method that ensures compliance while cutting measurement costs.
Flemish environmental legislation (VLAREM) imposes strict measurement requirements for air and water. Did you know these burdens can be reduced smartly without losing reliability? Witteveen+Bos developed, with the Departments Handhaving and GOP of Omgeving, a practical, evidence-based framework to prove stability of emissions and – once approved – reduce measurement frequencies.

You will learn:

  • reduce monitoring burdens safely: lower frequencies only if stability proven
  • clear, applicable criteria for air and water
  • robust approach meeting regulator expectations
  • practical use for GPBV and non-GPBV facilities
