The story of Thomas Alderweireldt

'Witteveen+Bos doesn't feel like a production machine, but rather a group of people with a common goal: to do fun projects and learn.'
'After graduating as a bioengineer in land and water management seven years ago, I found my first professional challenge at Witteveen+Bos. Although I gained other experiences in between, returning to the familiar still felt like coming home. The company has grown enormously in Belgium, but has retained its human character. With a heart for complex issues and exciting projects, I throw myself daily into water-related challenges.'
'Within the hydrology group, I work on a wide range of projects: from groundwater studies to ecohydrological analyses. An example is the Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide and the ECA project, where nature compensations for the expansion of the Antwerp port are being developed. My approach combines substantive depth with a systemic perspective, looking at water not at plot level, but as part of larger systems.
'No two working days are the same. My tasks range from modeling and reporting to consultation with clients and stakeholders. I appreciate the freedom and responsibility within Witteveen+Bos, where you work both independently and can count on support. You are encouraged to discover your strengths and interests, while a good work-life balance is always central.'
'With a clear vision of water management and a passion for learning and collaboration, I am not only building sustainable solutions, but also my own story within Witteveen+Bos.'
