Integrated carbon storage for future-proof industry
Integrated carbon storage for future-proof industry
Energy-intensive firms, such as steel and fertiliser manufacturers, can use Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) to achieve their emission reduction targets.
This is not straightforward: a complex chain must first be set up. Witteveen+Bos supports the links in that chain – developers of carbon infrastructure, energy producers and biogas producers (such as water authorities) – by offering an integrated package of services.
From permit to realisation
CCUS projects are complex because they often require extensive offshore infrastructure and because of their complex permitting processes and substantial investment risks. Tackling these challenges demands a wide range of knowledge and expertise. We have that knowledge in the field of hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering, gas infrastructure and systems, permitting processes and safety. By integrating these disciplines, we bring CCUS projects to a successful conclusion.
We have deployed our knowledge in projects including:
- feasibility studies and risk assessments for offshore carbon infrastructure;
- designing biogas and carbon capture systems;
- environmental impact assessments for offshore infrastructure.
