Witteveen+Bos, Goudappel and TAUW, as partners within Stadscampus de Kien, will be creating the integrated preliminary design for the Centrum&Schil public space, together with Karres en Brands landscape architects. The client is the Municipality of Deventer.

Shaping the future

Centrum&Schil comprises four clusters, of which the area around the De Kien city campus is the largest. This is also where our head office is located, which means that we will be able to shape the future and design of our own backyard.

‘In the integrated design, we really want to create a campus feel and realise an attractive area for students and other users,’ says landscape architect Stijn Tijhuis of Witteveen+Bos. ‘We are looking at traffic flows, spatial functions, parking, the layout of the Buitengracht and everything else that comes with it.’

Programme manager Rene Nelissen of De Kien: ‘Working on an integrated design for part of the Centrum&Schil public space fits in seamlessly with the ongoing knowledge and innovation developments at De Kien. This project further reinforces this development.’
