Witteveen+Bos has signed framework agreements with six water authorities and district water boards for engineering and consultancy services. These agreements are with the water authorities Brabantse Delta, Hollandse Delta, Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland and Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard. Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden and Waterschap Aa en Maas have also chosen to enter into a similar framework agreement with Witteveen+Bos. The agreements run for three years, with the option for three extensions of one year.

Waterschap Aa en Maas

The framework agreement with water authority Aa en Maas includes hydraulic engineering works, flood defences, wastewater chain and extraordinary maintenance of waterways. These all involve the project management of the work. The hydraulic engineering work also involves performing design activities and advising on mechanical engineering installations, giving engineering advice, carrying out work on a design for hydraulic engineering works and installations, and establishing the maintenance situation of existing engineering works.

For flood defences, it involves advisory and design activities for the design of dikes, dams and jetties, and performing design activities and advising on hydraulic engineering installations. Work related to the wastewater chain involves advisory and design work for purification plants for sludge processing and transport of wastewater. The extraordinary maintenance of waterways involves advising on dredging work.

Four water authorities

The framework agreement with water authorities Brabantse Delta, Hollandse Delta, Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland and Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard involves flood defences, wastewater chain and site planning. Witteveen+Bos was given the permitted maximum of three areas. These also all involve the project management of the work.

Flood defences also includes advisory and design work for dikes, fixed dams, jetties, dunes and hydraulic engineering structures in flood defences. Work in the wastewater chain involves environmental management, including listing the wishes and requirements of stakeholders and incorporating them in the design, and design activities and/or advising on mechanical engineering installations. Site planning involves work related to designing nature areas, brook restoration or (wet) ecological connecting zones, and for hydraulic engineering structures.

For Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden, Witteveen+Bos provides consultancy services relating to plans in water areas.

Cooperation

These framework agreements enable Witteveen+Bos to continue its long-term partnerships with these six parties. In the framework agreements, Witteveen+Bos was particularly well-rated for quality. The four criteria for this - demonstrably verify, demonstrably validate, customer satisfaction and provision of information - were all rated ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.
