What we do

What we do

Step 1: Preparing measurement and control plans (initial assessment)

A reliable measurement starts with a good measurement plan. The plan outlines the measurement strategy, locations, frequency, methods and relevant parameters (and may involve a site visit).

We adapt the measurement plan to the specific situation and the objective of the study. This process includes an analysis of the emission(s) to be measured, the available measurement points, process conditions and the desired quality of the measurement results.

A good measurement plan ensures that the measurements are carried out in a targeted, reproducible and efficient manner and that the results actually answer the research question.

From a one-off emission measurement to an extensive measurement programme, we help you determine the right measurement plan from the start.

Step 2: Measuring

Our measurement team identifies odour emission sources and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). We then take samples at each of these sources – which are often gas outlets – for our lab to analyse to identify the exact composition and concentrations of these compounds.

In doing so, we harness the value of our decades of experience in this field with a wide range of clients and sectors, from manufacturers to water authorities/sewage treatment plants, waste processors and project developers.

Our odour measurements and analyses are carried out in accordance with NEN-EN 13725, the European standard for olfactometry, and other applicable national and international technical and quality standards (including EN 15259, EN 16911-1, VDI 3880, VDI 3884 and NTA 9065).

We carry out measurements for a variety of emissions. Click here for more information.
