The story of Reinier Meijerink

‘Witteveen+Bos gives me the opportunity to create something beautiful with a club of motivated colleagues.’

After completing my MSc degree in Controlling, I was looking for an employer that would give me the opportunity to learn the different facets of Finance. Witteveen+Bos gave me that space. I was 23 when I started as an assistant controller. I then developed into business controller and corporate controller. Now, three years later, I was given the opportunity to advance to Corporate Control group leader. In my experience, this is typical Witteveen+Bos: you get all the space you need to develop yourself and discover what you are good at and what you dislike.

As group leader, I think it is important that everyone is in their right place and that you make the most of each other’s qualities. Creating something fantastic with a club of motivated people is something I have always enjoyed. For instance, in my spare time, I have been organising a youth camp for 60 primary school students with other enthusiastic volunteers for many years.

The organisation also challenges me professionally to grow. For example, reviewing and advising on the optimisation of the Finance department’s work processes. One of the most important tasks of my team. Or by ‘Finance of the future’, which focuses on a future-proof department where automation, digitalisation and data analysis are increasingly important. Thanks to this dynamic environment, many existing processes are changing and new ones are emerging. The combination of innovation and managing great colleagues makes me feel right at home at Witteveen+Bos.
