The story of Ernst-Jan van Dijk

‘Projects that allow me to contribute to a current social issue give me energy.’

Immediately after my holiday, a challenging assignment is waiting for me: preparing an action plan for a study on the sustainable accessibility of a city in the north of the Netherlands. This kind of projects give me energy because I can contribute to a current social issue. Meanwhile, I have been working at Witteveen+Bos for 18 years in the role of Area-Specific Infrastructure Project Manager.

I appreciate the variety in projects and working together with knowledgeable and great colleagues. I will never get bored of getting to the heart of a challenge together. Today, I start on time with the team to go over the presentation one more time. This is because today we will present our action plan to the client. After a pleasant reception, our proposal is received with enthusiasm. Now we wait for the result!

After a brief evaluation of our presentation, I immediately go on to the next project. On this occasion, it concerns a major infrastructure project for which W+B will prepare the integrated design. This afternoon, we will discuss progress and technical questions with the client. Thanks to a thorough preparation by the design leads in my team, we are making great strides in planning as well as with the BIM model. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my last meeting because I had a presentation at a client today. Our periodic peer review with other project managers, led by our sector head, is concluded with a get-together. I received a picture of the get-together on the app with an invitation for next time!
