Multiple Water Supply Projects

From the late nineties to date, Ghana Water Company (GWCL) has been confronted with a growing demand for water and inadequate water supply systems in several parts of Ghana.

To solve these problems, GWCL has contacted various contractors to conduct the financing, design, construction and commissioning of some water supply systems. These contractors, mainly Denys and Spaans Babcock, contracted Witteveen+Bos for design and consultancy services for their assigned projects. Projects completed in the nineties and early noughties with the involvement of Witteveen+Bos included: 

• Winneba Water treatment works
• Kwanyaku Water treatment works
• Baifikrom Water treatment works
• Koforidua Water supply project
• Upper East Region water supply project
• Essakyir water supply system
