Internal and external training courses
First and foremost, you will develop hands-on by learning on the job. You learn the most and fastest by being challenged to use and expand your knowledge and skills. We encourage this development by offering a wide range of different internal and external training courses.
We organise all kinds of skill training courses geared strongly to your level of experience and the phase of your career. They are designed to strengthen personal, socio-communicative, managerial or commercial skills. For colleagues who are already proficient in project leadership but want to develop into an even better project leader, for example, we offer a course specifically for experienced project leaders.
You will attend these courses as a member of a group, with the composition of the group reflecting the composition of our entire organisation. It gives you an opportunity to get to know colleagues who are active in other disciplines. This will give you a wider view of our organisation and, above all, allow you to build up a network. The courses are specifically geared to what we do in practice.
A personal development plan often forms part of a training course, and we also expect you to request feedback from your manager and your immediate colleagues for that purpose.
Our range of training courses includes:
- project management for experienced project leaders
- group leader programme
- commercial skills
- financial analyses
- legal and contractual aspects of the services we provide
Interested in transferring your knowledge to your colleagues? You can do it in such ways as being a lecturer or supervisor during one of our internal courses.
Besides these in-house training courses, we also facilitate various external courses of study. These are focused far more on specialisation and technology. By attending these courses, you can further deepen your knowledge.
We consider it important for you personally to take the initiative to sign up for a training course or study. After all, you are the person responsible for your career.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your vision on career development?
We will give you the scope to deepen, or perhaps widen, your career perspectives by working in innovative projects on varied and challenging activities. You will have a lot of latitude for personal initiative and a great degree of independence. We believe it is important continuously to match your interests and your ambitions to the possibilities that we see for you. This lies at the heart of our vision on career development. Rather than just offering you a job, we want to offer you a career. And you are the orchestrator of your career.
What employee benefits do you offer?
Our salaries are in line with market norms and depend on the level and the relevance of your education and any work experience you have already acquired. Holiday pay equals 8% of gross annual salary. At Witteveen+Bos we have a profit-sharing scheme. Employees who excel, in any way whatsoever, may also qualify for a bonus.
Witteveen+Bos is a company wholly owned by its employees. This is not merely a slogan, but is reflected in our ownership structure (link to ownership structure under ‘Working at W+B’). All shares in our company are held by our employees. Every employee with an open-ended employment contract can become a co-owner and, in due course, possibly even a partner or senior partner.
You are entitled to at least 28.5 days of leave each year. Witteveen+Bos provides allowances for commuting and relocation/refurbishing expenses, and in certain cases an allowance for entertainment expenses.
We support our employees in their personal development by providing a study scheme. This includes an allowance for the cost of the course and examination fees plus extra leave. Besides external training courses, we organise a wide range of internal courses.
