Our vision of career development
Your development as a young professional is our primary consideration. Your development begins immediately on your first working day by undertaking varied and challenging activities within our innovative projects. In those projects, you will collaborate in alternating project teams, usually of a multidisciplinary composition. As a member of such a team, you will get loads of opportunities to learn from your colleagues. What’s more, you will quickly build up a big network within our organisation.
Create your own career
In the initial phase of your career, we will offer you all the scope you need to discover what kind of work you like and what your talents are. We will allow you a lot of latitude for personal initiative plus a large degree of independence. We consider it important to talk to you constantly about your interests and ambitions and about the possibilities we can offer you to fulfil them. This is what lies at the heart of our vision of career development. Rather than just offering you a job, we want to offer you a career.
The work you do on projects must be properly aligned to your development needs. If you want to discover whether the role of project leader is suited to you, for example, it is important for you gradually gain experience in that role. Your immediate superior is responsible for supervising you and will coach and encourage you. Similarly, your PMC leader plays a role in your personal development. For that reason, it is very important for you to meet with them regularly at times such as performance appraisals and career interviews. It’s up to you to take the lead in your own career so we do not mark out any predefined career paths.
Develop on multiple fronts
In the early years of your career, we want to see you develop a basis for your specialised work. We expect you to have the ambition to become really good in your specialisation and to get the best out of yourself to achieve that goal. Combined with your personal development towards becoming an expert in a particular field, we offer you two other development directions: management (as a project leader or manager) and commercial affairs (handling relationships with our clients). To support your development along these lines, we organise numerous training courses internally and facilitate attendance of a variety of external courses.
