Hereford Walking and Cycling Inspiration Study

The Hereford Inspiration Study is a little opportunity to think big about what is needed to make walking and cycling safe for everyone in Hereford. The main purpose of the study was to stimulate imaginative discussion and understanding for the potential of walking and cycling upgrades. Choosing the key location of the Holme Lacy -Straight Mile corridor, which has been decommissioned as an A-road thanks to other major road upgrades, the study scopes out the technical feasibility of upgrading this corridor to a healthy transport corridor.

A key before/after visualisation is included to spark a conversation about alternative walking and cycling infrastructure solutions which could have wider benefits and be relevant to other settings. The document seeks to capture the imagination of the average person, and depict solutions and present information in a way which people who aren’t into cycling can relate to and value as placemaking.
