For the next five years, Witteveen+Bos will work with Nama Water Services, the national drinking water and wastewater company in Oman. NWS is investing heavily in expanding their water infrastructure in response to the steady population growth in the sultanate.

The framework agreement covers preliminary studies for drinking water and wastewater projects. An earlier, similar framework agreement with NWS and our knowledge of, and experience with, the local water sector contributed to the decision to award the contract to W+B.

Local partner

Witteveen+Bos will implement the framework agreement in collaboration with our local partner, Integrated Engineering & Technology LLC. IET has been active in the water sector in Oman for decades and has an impressive track record.

Both W+B and IET work on preliminary designs, feasibility studies and master plans for water purification, wastewater and similar projects. IET will also take responsibility for the secondment of employees in the Planning and Asset management departments.

Appreciation

‘I’m very happy that we are able to build on the previous, successful framework agreement with NWS, and that our high-quality contribution is clearly appreciated’, says Michel Bretveld.

‘This new agreement allows us to spend several more years working on interesting projects in Oman. It also gives our employees the opportunity to expand their horizons and work for a foreign client in collaboration with a foreign partner.’
