Witteveen+Bos, Antea Group and Rho Adviseurs help with housing challenge in Overijssel
The provincial government of Overijssel has set the target of realising at least 42,300 affordable owner-occupied and (social) rental homes by 2030. In the context of the Bouwbrigade programme, Witteveen+Bos, Antea Group and Rho Adviseurs will support the municipalities in the province with a wide range of consultancy and engineering services. The agreement for this collaboration was signed today during the Woonkeuken networking event in Rijssen.
The provincial government has launched the Bouwbrigade programme to tackle the housing challenge in the province of Overijssel. The programme offers municipalities the knowledge, experience and expertise they need to implement projects. The programme consists of six elements, including the Housebuilding Advice Pool (Adviespool Woningbouw).
The Housebuilding Advice Pool is made up of experts from Witteveen+Bos, Antea Group and Rho Adviseurs. They will actively support municipalities by providing a wide range of services to accelerate the housebuilding process. These range from preparing a vision and urban development plan, planning law support and answering questions about mobility and the nitrogen cycle to supporting process, engagement and stakeholder management.
Municipalities in Overijssel can request support for a specific project for the realisation of 50 or more homes that meets the requirements of the Twente or West-Overijssel housebuilding deals. Requests may also relate to combinations of subprojects. Once the provincial government has assessed the application, the specialists from Witteveen+Bos, Antea Group and Rho Adviseurs will work with the municipality to realise new homes through the specific project.
Wouter Bijman, director Witteveen+Bos:
‘The shortage of homes is a problem that affects many people today. That’s why the Bouwbrigade programme and the Housebuilding Advice Pool, which were set up to accelerate the housebuilding process, are such great initiatives. We are very happy that our knowledge, expertise and capacity can make a tangible contribution to building more homes in the province of Overijssel.'
Jos van Jole, director RHO Advisors:
‘The housing challenge in the Netherlands is huge, and most of all urgent. The most promising opportunities to accelerate housebuilding relate to the front end of the planning process and procedures. As an urban planning firm, we are very much at home in this field. We look forward to using our technical expertise and experience with processes to tackle this challenge in partnership with the province of Overijssel.'
Tanja Lendzion, CEO Antea Group Netherlands:
‘We are happy that the consortium we are part of can also contribute to accelerating the solution to the housing challenge in Overijssel. Our collaboration and strategy have already been successful in the province of Gelderland. We look forward to contributing our expertise in spatial planning and urban design and our specialist knowledge of subjects including flora and fauna, the nitrogen cycle, soil, grid congestion and land acquisition to projects in Overijssel.’
