The Smart Zwolle Alliance is committed to increasing and accelerating our insights into opportunities and developments with data. By signing the Smart Zwolle Alliance agreement of intent, the collaborating parties have agreed to work together to increase their efforts on relevant social issues. These include climate change, energy transition, healthy ageing and mobility. The alliance consists of the municipality of Zwolle, deltaWonen, Esri Nederland, Witteveen+Bos, Rabobank, ROVA, Vitens and Windesheim University of Applied Sciences.

The partners are pooling together their knowledge and data to create a vibrant region with informed inhabitants. On a number of themes the alliance is working with Enexis and the province of Overijssel. Sharing resources is essential for further digitisation and learning how to work differently with data. A smart city and region, for example, increase the chances of students being able to find interesting jobs or projects. By giving residents of Zwolle more insight into data, they can make better decisions and make smarter and more sustainable choices. The cooperation will run for a period of four years. After two years, an assessment will take place to determine whether the partners have made sufficient progress.
