Evelien Peeters appointed Managing Director of Witteveen+Bos Belgium
As of 1 July 2025, Witteveen+Bos Belgium has a new Managing Director. Evelien Peeters succeeds Maarten-Kees van Breukelen, who is moving into the role of Director of Operations for the entire Witteveen+Bos group.
Both appointments are part of a broader renewal of the governance model, aligning it fully with the sharpened strategy of the engineering and consultancy firm. This change will make Witteveen+Bos more agile and effective, allowing it to further increase its societal impact.
Stefan De Roos will remain Delegate Director of Witteveen+Bos Belgium and will continue to work alongside Evelien to streamline the organisation both internally and externally.
About Evelien
After completing her studies in Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Urbanism and Strategic Planning at KU Leuven, Evelien began her career as Head of Spatial Planning at a public authority. Nine years later, in 2017, she joined Witteveen+Bos Belgium. There, she quickly advanced to become manager of the Urban Solutions (US) Business Unit, a close-knit team specialising in creating, designing and delivering integrated, sustainable solutions for complex spatial challenges in the built environment.
As a true people manager, Evelien excels at bringing together her team, clients and other stakeholders to ensure project success. Together with her colleagues, she has worked on a variety of multidisciplinary projects for public and private clients alike. Recent examples include the Groenplaats in Antwerp and Ecluse, the heat network for the Port of Antwerp.
Shaping the future together
Evelien Peeters: 'In a world that is changing at lightning speed, where sustainability, innovation and social responsibility are no longer choices but necessities, we as engineers and consultants need to take the lead.'
'Sustainability will not be a separate chapter in our strategy; it will be the foundation we build on. Whether it concerns energy, mobility, infrastructure or buildings, we must—and will—continue to contribute to a future where both people and planet can thrive.'
'Innovation will remain our driving force. Not just technological innovation, but also in the way we organise projects and work together. Standing still is not an option.'
'And we want to do all of this together with our clients and stakeholders. To deliver sustainable, future-proof projects as true partners. Not waiting for the future, but shaping it together.'
