Witteveen+Bos chooses further digital supply chain collaboration
DSGO as foundation for better solutions
Witteveen+Bos chooses further digital supply chain collaboration
Consultancy and engineering firm Witteveen+Bos has committed even more emphatically to the set of agreements in the Digitaal Stelsel Gebouwde Omgeving (DSGO). At digiGO’s head office in Zoetermeer, Witteveen+Bos’s director Built Environment Edgar Rijsdijk today signed a declaration of intent to implement the agreements.
The signing marks an important milestone for Witteveen+Bos and an explicit step towards implementing DSGO. There are four possible levels of DSGO implementation; by signing on to level two, we have resolved to actively implement the agreements on our projects and in our digital services.
It is one of the ways in which we are proactively committed to transforming the construction chain. Witteveen+Bos sees DSGO as an important tool for providing even better integrated advice, both now and in the future, on complex issues in the built environment, such as housing construction and the energy transition. Moreover, we anticipate that working with standards such as DSGO will soon become a prerequisite for digital collaboration within projects in the chain.
Edgar Rijsdijk, director Built Environment at Witteveen+Bos:
‘Fast and standardised data exchange means you can analyse tasks better, collaborate more efficiently, create opportunities for innovation and have more time to focus on the issue itself. This automatically leads to better solutions and higher quality. And that is necessary: we have to do more and more with fewer and fewer people, and there is a great need for innovation in construction. The digital system has great potential to help us make enormous progress.’
Roger Tan, executive director and board member at digiGO:
‘Following Movares, Witteveen+Bos has now also joined DSGO, and more and more companies are considering doing the same. Engineering firms are setting a good example by collectively demonstrating that they are ready for the next step in digital supply chain collaboration. Hopefully, other industries will follow soon. Who’s going to be next?’
Otto Schepers, head of Digital Engineering Experiences at Witteveen+Bos:
‘Digital supply chain collaboration is essential to successfully tackling today’s complex challenges. The standardisation it offers also creates new opportunities for digital services – for example, automated testing of designs and concepts against various frameworks, or intelligently aligning policy rules.’
About DSGO
DSGO is a set of agreements for the simple, safe and reliable exchange of digital data in the built environment. The standardisation it offers allows supply chain partners to digitally collaborate in a more efficient and sustainable manner. Repeatedly making new agreements on data access are a thing of the past, with security and ease of use guaranteed. The result is savings in both time and money.
