Soil remediation

Soil remediation requires a tailor-made solution. The execution of remediation works is highly dependent on several factors that influence the approach, efficiency and cost. Witteveen+Bos advises on the most appropriate remediation approach, depending on the type of contaminations, the future layout and use of the site, the (hydro)geology and the soil composition.

The government imposes legal obligations that can require soil remediation, the implementation and follow-up of which are also subject to strict rules. Do clients identify soil contamination during construction works, project development or incidents? Then it is vital to guide them in properly handling this.

In a multidisciplinary team, consisting of experienced project managers and specialists, together with clients and partners, we arrive at a tailored research design and a successful approach to soil contamination.

When doing so, we use the most appropriate and best available technologies, ranging from conventional, civil engineering to in situ remediation techniques. If so required by the consideration, we prepare a multi-criteria analysis together with the client and partners to achieve the best-fit variant.

From remediation design to implementation

Witteveen+Bos can handle the contracting to market the remediation design in an optimal way. From ‘classic’ RAW specifications to UAV-GC or a construction team, we have an excellent track record for all contract types. We can also work with contractors to arrive at an optimal implementation design and a winning bid.

Finally, we can support clients during the implementation of the soil remediation project in terms of contract management, management and supervision, and environmental supervision. Witteveen+Bos is recognised by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management for performing environmental supervision for the BRL 6000 protocols 6001, 6002, 6005 and 6006 for both process control and verification.
