Flex-E Grant Scheme: anticipating and preventing the effects of grid congestion
Flex-E Grant Scheme: anticipating and preventing the effects of grid congestion
Are you a large-scale consumer with an electricity connection rated at more than 3x80 amps and do you want to be prepared for grid congestion? In that case, the Flex-E grant is an attractive option for your business or organisation.
Under this grant scheme, large-scale consumers*, such as industrial companies, water authorities or greenhouse horticulture businesses can apply for a study to identify measures to make their energy usage more flexible.
This gives them access to additional capital, for example to expand, improve sustainability or reduce costs under their contract with the grid operator.
Two types of study are available:
- flexibility scan: analyses current energy consumption and identifies measures to make energy usage more flexible. The grant covers 50 % of the costs, up to a maximum of EUR 10,000.--;
- feasibility study: which measures are technically and financially feasible? The grant covers 50 % of the costs, subject to a minimum of EUR 10,000.-- and a maximum of EUR 125,000.--.
What will we do for you?
For the flexibility scan, we produce an overview of the current energy consumption, identify which processes are significant energy consumers and highlight promising opportunities for introducing flexibility measures.
For the feasibility study, we can draw up a conceptual technical design that examines how flexibility measures can be incorporated into business operations. We also analyse the costs and payback times of the various measures. In the implementation plan, we provide advice on the timing and phasing of the measures, indicate which permits are required and quantify the funding needed.
