The Story of Axl Hofstede

Variety will develop your knowledge and skills

In 2017, I graduated from the University of Twente and joined Witteveen+Bos as a project engineer. The variety of projects and work offers plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills.

In projects relating to both the water and energy world, I am responsible for the mechanical engineering work. In practice, this means that I work on projects with various water treatment plants whereby the heat supply and production of biogas are improved. The projects I work on vary from a quick scan in which only the initial ideas are elaborated to supervising the total output of the project. Experiencing the growth and development of a project from start to finish teaches you a lot. You can then apply everything you've learned in other stages of projects. It gives me a kick to bring something essential like better waste water processing or a sustainable heat supply a step closer to reality.

Besides growing in technical terms, at Witteveen+Bos you also get the opportunity to develop in different roles in the organisation. In doing so, you are given a great deal of freedom in this, enabling you to discover which role suits you best.
