We use our knowledge in the field of (immersed) tunnels, aqueducts, movable bridges, viaducts and deepened locations when designing structures in infrastructure. Specialist knowledge of concrete, steel and (bio-based) composite enables us to make the right material choices and to work out the designs optimally. Clients like to retain our services for the design management of complex integral infrastructure projects.
New technologies enable the virtual design of infrastructure objects. We focus strongly on these developments by applying BIM, parametric design, parametric integral construction, VR/AR and participation platforms in our projects. In this way, together with our clients, we can arrive at flawless, sustainable and efficient designs.
Designing railway underpasses, bridges and viaducts requires knowledge of train operations and the design if railway infrastructure. Projects are implemented on operational railway lines, requiring highly specific construction methods and phasing of construction aimed at minimizing any disruptions for rail traffic.
Witteveen+Bos has ProRail certifications for rail-bearing and non-rail-bearing Civil Engineering and Utility Structures. With these recognitions, Witteveen+Bos is able to work on all structures and buildings on and associated with railways, both for ProRail and for other public- and private-sector parties. The Witteveen+Bos approach is characterised by its multidisciplinary nature, as well as ample attention for embedding projects in the environment, also known as stakeholder management. Our expertise in road infrastructure, spatial development, urban architecture and environmental policy enables us to incorporate that environment in every railway project and in all our consultancy activities.
