The story of Rebecca Van Houtvinck

You are given quite a lot of responsibility

Hello, my name is Rebecca Van Houtvinck. Some years ago, I graduated as a bioengineer from KU Leuven. With my Master degree in soil and water systems, I joined the Soil and groundwater group at Witteveen+Bos in October 2019.

As an engineering firm, we deliver projects. Besides writing reports, this means being involved in many other things, such as following up the field work, maintaining contact with clients and the government,... This wide range of tasks provides interesting variety in the work.

In recent years, our corporate department has grown considerably, but it still feels like a family and the lines are short. For example, you are always encouraged to talk to colleagues, and for some projects you work with experienced colleagues, or you can share knowledge/experiences with other business units in Witteveen+Bos.

From the start, you are given quite a lot of responsibility, but you can always fall back on the input of more experienced colleagues. They are happy to advise you and provide concrete tips when you need them.
