Jesper Pots' story

‘How can we make sustainability and circularity part of infrastructure projects? This is one of the most important challenges for me as an adviser on contract forms and tendering. Every day, I translate clients’ ambitions into a tender strategy and works contract, in order to then tender out that contract and guide the works execution. It means that every day’s different.

Providing advice on the circular tendering of projects gives me lots of energy. Clients like it when we identify opportunities for sustainability together. With my experience, I can effectively assess whether opportunities exist within a specific project to contribute, for example, to the energy transition, to solving water quality issues, or to promoting biodiversity.

In the past four years, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to many noteworthy projects, including the renovation of the first Heinenoord Tunnel, the renovation of the Krammer Locks, the Zuidasdok Tunnel, ProRail’s multiyear programme looking at noise reduction, and various projects and studies in which circular tendering and awarding contracts on the basis of ECI were central.

I’d recommend working at Witteveen+Bos to everyone. You’d be joining a company that offers you every opportunity to develop yourself, and where you also get the chance to use your professional knowledge to work on socially important topics – and to do that together with lots of enthusiastic colleagues.’
