Ghana WASH Window (GWW)

The Ghana WASH Window (GWW) supports public private projects in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and integrated water management in Ghana. This means collective initiatives between government bodies, industry and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) or knowledge institutions. It is currently not possible to apply for a GWW grant.

The GWW supports organisations that focus on the following subthemes and which could be eligible for subsidies:

• Sanitation and hygiene;
• Improved waste management (liquid and solid waste);
• Access to and consumption of safe drinking water;
• Integrated water management.

Regarding water, sanitation and waste-related hygiene problems in Ghana, interests are divided. By combining expertise, a partnership between government, industry, NGOs and knowledge institutions can be of huge value in identifying possible compromises, innovative solutions and developing business models.

Criteria
GWW projects are located in Ghana and fulfil the criteria mentioned in the 'Formal Requirements and Criteria'-guidelines. You can download this document from the download section below.

Project management
After your proposal is approved, the project partners can start implementing the project. The Grant Award of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) determines which results the project partners need to achieve.

Every year, the lead organisation in the project has to report to RVO.nl on the progress of the project. The subsidy contribution is paid out in predetermined installments. All payments are advance payments.

Projects overview
GWW projects active on or started after January 2015, can be found at the aiddata.rvo.nl portal. This portal offers an overview of all official development aid (ODA) projects and programmes executed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). You can refine your search by using filter options such as country, sector and programme.

Background
