Waal and Boven-Rhine Rivers bank inspections

After waiting several weeks for high water levels, in the spring of 2020 Witteveen+Bos - under contract to Rijkswaterstaat East Netherlands - conducted visual inspections of the bank structures of the Waal and Boven-Rhine Rivers.

The total route was approximately 90 kilometres and comprised 1,500 objects. All data was captured using the GIS Collector App. After this, the results and reports were prepared. By doing this we have provided Rijkswaterstaat with insight into the (overdue) maintenance required on the riverbanks before the area can be handed over to a new maintenance contractor - for which Rijkswaterstaat is currently preparing a contract.
