PT W+B Indonesia contributes to Dutch economic mission

A large delegation of Dutch governmental officials, organisations and private companies visited Indonesia during an economic mission that took place 9-13 March 2020. The mission was organised in honour of the state visit of king Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima to Indonesia.

Colleagues of PT Witteveen Bos Indonesia (Sawarendro, Victor Coenen, Joost Noordermeer and Rob van den Boomen) attended and contributed to sessions on coastal and maritime development and hosted site visits in Jakarta and Surabaya. Witteveen+Bos director Stephan van der Biezen attended a CEO roundtable meeting at ministerial level, preceded by an informal discussion with the royal couple.

Stephan: ‘Human Capital Development is one of the five top priorities of president Jokowi. During the roundtable meeting, I have underlined the importance of involving companies like ours in doing so, so that both hard and soft skills may be developed equally and close to real projects.’

The trade mission was led by the Dutch ministers Sigrid Kaag, of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, of Infrastructure and Water Management, Secretary-General Jan-Kees Goet of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and Minister of State Sybilla Dekker. The mission was hosted by the Indonesian ministers of Transport Budi Karya Sumadi, Maritime affairs and Investments Luhut Binhar Pandjaitan and Trade Argus Suparmanto.
