3DCP: a prelude tot digitisation in the construction industry and real estate market

3D concrete printing: it can be done and it happens! The Vergaderfabriek ('Meeting Factory') in the Dutch village Teuge and the bicycle bridge in Gemert can be seen as proof of the 3D concrete printing technology. Many other projects are in the pipeline. We have gained a wealth of experience. We would like to share our insights during the conference '3D concrete printing: a prelude to digitisation of the construction and real estate market' on Thursday 18 April 2019 in Deventer.

Witteveen+Bos, Revelating and The Form Foundation are closely involved in the development of De Vergaderfabriek, which will be completed in the summer of 2019. Using this project, the issues that clients and contractors encounter during the entire process from idea to delivery will be discussed in detail. How do you obtain an environmental permit for the development of a completely new building, for which there are no specific (policy) rules yet? What were the technical and logistical hot issues?

3D printing is a prelude to the further digitisation of the building. The speakers will talk about their experience with the use of algorithms, sensors and robots for the design and production of buildings, and about the impact this will have on the way of working and on business models in the construction and real estate market. We predict that these markets will 'platformize'.

During the seminar on the subject, for professionals in the real estate world (such as project developers, financiers, contractors, pension funds and governments) we will show where the technology is now, tell about the technical (im)possibilities and outline the opportunities and social consequences of these innovative developments.
