The building industry is at the eve of a paradigm shift. Today, the so called 'industry 4.0' is entering the building industry. Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. Do you want to be involved in the industry 4.0 and change the way we design and construct our buildings?

Witteveen+Bos is a frontrunner in the development and implementation of industry 4.0 in the construction industry. Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) offers new and exciting challenges to prototype both buildings and civil works in a digital environment before actual construction. Subsequently, actual construction will be digitized and robotized, already programmed in the design phase. We are a pioneer in designing, engineering and implementing of 3D-printing and 3D-printed structures in the built environment and a partner in the TU/e research program on 3DCP.

For our Digital Engineering & Construction team we are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join. Our team works e.g. on 3D concrete printing (3DCP) projects, for example: pedestrian bridges (The Netherlands, Dubai), Project Milestone 3D printed house (Eindhoven), the R&Drone Laboratory (Dubai). We also develop 3DCP software solutions and work on the development of Automated Tower Cranes. More information about our projects can be found on our blog:

As Computational designer you will focus on the development of digital engineering and construction solutions for the industry 4.0. You will work with and develop parametric tools, robots and BIM related software from 3D up to 7D. You will be the interlocking connection between the digital design and the construction process. Part of this task will be assisting in research and development projects. Most likely you will develop smart tools like parametric tools and designs in software such as Rhino with the plugin Grasshopper and Autodesk Revit with the plugin Dynamo.

You have hands-on experience in using digital technologies within engineering projects and you have experience with programming. You are creative and have an interest in development of new concepts for smart BIM tools or 3D-concrete printing. You will be working in one of our offices in the Netherlands. You will also have a strong connection with our international offices.

  • Proficiency with Grashopper or Dynamo

  • Fluent in English
