Our vision

We are working in the following disciplines:

Over the years, road, rail and hydraulic engineering have created national and international infrastructures characterised by their large scale on the one hand and their sophistication on the other. At numerous levels Witteveen+Bos has contributed to this development.

In contrast with huge projects like the North-South metro line in Amsterdam, the Fehmarn Belt crossing between Denmark and Germany and the enhancement of the infrastructure around Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, there are numerous smaller ones that tend to be invisible to the user. But what large and small have in common is the combining of existing and new technologies under highly differing local conditions.

For Witteveen+Bos success stems equally from developing scenarios for orchestrating alteration of the Eindhoven ring road as from building the western orbital motorway around Amsterdam or using relatively simple means to build a tram line in Bucharest.

Spatial development + Environment

Sustainable development necessitates interaction between the spatial development and environmental disciplines. Witteveen+Bos’s specialists in spatial development and environmental issues make a pivotal contribution through their ability and willingness to look beyond the fences of their own domains. From this baseline our experts have helped to complete numerous projects in the Netherlands and other countries. Our activities range from working in distinct fields to assuming integral responsibility, but without losing sight of interfaces with other disciplines. Our overarching approach produces numerous benefits through close cooperation between experts from different parts of our firm.

Water

We approach the water domain as the entirety of the water cycle and the water system. Our large group of specialists provide advice on water collection, preparation of drinking water, sewer systems, treatment and reuse of waste water, integrated water management and process automation.

Ports + Hydraulic engineering

Our vision

We are working in the following disciplines:

Ports and hydraulic engineering is a field that embraces the entire wet and dry infrastructure at the interface of land and water. Our job is to ensure safety in this transitional area. We leverage the world-acclaimed Dutch knowledge of hydraulic engineering in the Netherlands and many other countries. Our recommendations cover the entire lifecycle. We specialise in the preparation (feasibility and design), work supervision and maintenance phases. Each contract is special, requires customisation and requires the correct use of various disciplines and expert innovation.

Urban development + Construction

Our vision

We are working in the following disciplines:

Urban areas are constantly undergoing change. New residential districts and industrial sites are being built at increasingly challenging locations. They range from construction in low-lying areas like the Zuidplaspolder, or on a new land like IJburg. Existing residential districts and industrial sites are being redeveloped and rearranged, presenting challenging social, economic, organisational and engineering tasks.

Witteveen+Bos can watch over these developments for you all the way from the definition study to the performance of on-site work. To do this we combine our knowledge of project and process management with our financial and technical expertise, plus our know-how of the twin fields of areas and buildings. The result is the creation at macro and micro levels of a pleasant and sustainable living and working environment, for today and for the years ahead.
