The environment plays a key role in all activities undertaken by Witteveen+Bos. Environmental impacts are a vital consideration in infrastructure and building projects. It is an integrated component in determining a project’s feasibility.

As independent consultants, we are well positioned to advise and support both government and the private sector. Studies and investigations are carried out which provide the technical and organisational basis for policy making on various environmental issues, such as soil and groundwater contamination, noise and odour hindrance. We design environmental remediation and protection measures.

Our specialists also support municipal and provincial governments in developing and implementing environmental regulations, setting guidelines and evaluating environmental permits.

In many cases, on site monitoring and investigation is required. We are well equipped to undertake investigations on soil and groundwater, air emissions, noise and odour hindrance and bioassays.
We carry out quick scans for industries to investigate water and energy consumption as well as waste production so that we can advise on effective prevention, re-use and savings.
